With a wealth of experience spanning over 30 years, Charles' mission is to "Advance the Cause of Christ through Stewardship." His writing, teaching, and speaking have been instrumental in this pursuit. His clients, which include churches, seminaries, foundations, and conferences, have benefited from his knowledge. He and his son Charles III co-authored a book entitled " He Said IT! I Did It! Lessons from my father:"

His business and professional background is as follows:
1. Served in United States Airforce in Europe 1965-1970
2. Retired from Bellsouth/AT&T 1970-1995 as (Vice President of Business Sales for Georgia)
3. Founder of C. W. Buffington and Associates Inc. 1995-present
4. Founder of Sonseeker Media LLC 2017-present.

Church and community services include the following:
- Board of Trustees for Emory Johns Creek Hospital (Member and board chair)
- Board of Trustees Mount Pisgah Christian School
- Board of Trustees of North Fulton Community Charities (Chair development),
- Board of Trustees Gammon Theological Seminary (Chair development)

Charles and Minnie Buffington have been married for more than 50 years. They have one son, a daughter-in-law and four granddaughters. They are members of St. James Alpharetta and have served in various ministries.
